Senior Citizens’ Lunch

The sun certainly had his hat on for Rotary’s annual lunch for our senior citizens at the Dumb Bell Pub. It was a real pleasure to meet up once again with our friends to celebrate the beginning of spring and welcome in the new year together. As always, we were wonderfully hosted by the dream team – Wendy, Shelley and Danielle – who ensured there was plenty of delicious home-cooked food for everyone. The service, as we’ve come to expect, was delivered with efficiency and a smile. A new addition to this year’s event was a special mode of transport for those unable to make their own way to the venue. The local scout bus was dusted off and swept out for the occasion, and we even persuaded our Christmas elf driver, Allan, to come out of retirement to chauffeur our ladies there and back home again. The only slight disappointment was that they couldn’t be convinced to have a sing-song along the way – but there’s always next time! A huge thank you also goes to our Rotarians and friends who gave their time to help serve and support the event, making it another memorable and heartwarming occasion for all involved.
