We’re proud to launch the first Local Heroes Awards in Gerrards Cross & Chalfont St Peter in collaboration with Gerrards Cross Community Association – recognising the everyday kindness, dedication and generosity that often goes unseen.
Help us honour them. Nominate someone who makes a difference, if you are a business sponsor a category or join us as a volunteer to help bring this celebration to life.

Local Hero Awards 2026, Sunday 18 October 1pm-6pm
Across the community, countless unsung heroes dedicate their time and energy to helping others, often without seeking recognition. By nominating someone for the Local Hero Awards, you’re giving them the platform and appreciation they truly deserve.
Doors open 1pm for shopping from local businesses, eating and socialising and official proceedings for the awards ceremony begin at 2pm, event expected to finish by 6pm.

Fundraiser of the Year
Awarded to an individual or group who go the extra mile to raise funds for a good cause.

Volunteer of the Year
Awarded to an individual who shows outstanding courage or selflessness – for example, helping someone in crisis, saving a life or making a meaningful difference in a moment of need.

The Good Neighbour
Awarded to an individual who helps make their neighbourhood a better place to live or work, whether through ongoing support or a single act of kindness.

Resilience in the Face of Adversity
Awarded to an individual demonstrating exceptional resilience against hardship, courageously turning adversity into a positive outcome.

Sporting Hero of the Year
Awarded to an individual or group who uses physical activity or sport to make a positive difference in their community.

The Young Hero Award
Awarded to an individual or group under the age of 18 who have made a positive impact in their community or achieved something truly exceptional.
Nomination Tips

Write how you speak and speak from the heart. We want to know what makes this person or group special to you.

First round judging will be based on your 250 words only, so make each word matter and use as much of your word count as possible.

Judges won’t click on any weblinks, so please do not include them.
Nominate Today
You must be aged 18 or over to nominate someone for an award, if the person you're nominating is under 18, we ask for their parent/guardian details.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and awards will be given in each category.
Nominations can be made until midnight on Tuesday, 8 September 2026. All nominations will be reviewed and finalists will be asked to take part in an awards ceremony later in the year.

We have space for 8 local businesses to exhibit, it will be £50 for a 6ft table plus a donation of one of your products towards the raffle.
