About Us

Your local Rotary club is part of an impressive worldwide organisation.

You might be surprised to learn Rotary was founded in 1905 and now has 1.2 million members in more than 32,000 clubs around the globe.

This enables us to set ourselves some very ambitious goals. As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease.

Where we Meet

We meet the first Thursday of the month at 11:30 am at Gerrards Cross golf club, third Thursday of the month at 12 noon. Rotary is a great way to expand your social circles, meet new people and make lasting friendships whilst having fun and making a difference. Plus you can share your personal motivational skills, take up leadership roles as well as learning from fellow members on activities.

Gerrards Cross & Chalfont St. Peter Rotary Club was chartered in 1947 and is proud to have around 15 dedicated members. We are in a unique position of being rooted within our own communities, but with a global outlook – ready to tackle challenges at home and abroad through the dedication of our members.

Our Rotary Officers for 2025

Daniel Charles
President

Daniel has spent over 20 years working in the building industry both in the UK and Australia. In 2001 he established his own company, Do-It-All-Dan Building, Maintenance & Handyman Services, with the aim of creating a building and maintenance service the local community could truly rely on. Inspired by the example of his late grandfather, Cliff Hubbard – a former Rotary club president and recipient of the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship – Daniel later joined his local Rotary club. In July this year he was elected president, a role he feels deeply honoured to serve in.

Ian Peters
Vice President

Ian joined the Rotary Club of Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter at the end of 2024 after retiring as Director of the Institute of Business Ethics. With a wealth of experience from senior roles in leading business organisations, he continues to advise on ethics and corporate culture. Keen to give back to his community, Ian has helped raise funds for local causes, including organising the Gerrards Cross Classic Car Show, and volunteers as a driver for The London Run charity. A keen traveller, he’s on a lifelong mission to see as much of the world as possible.

Tania Orlova
Secretary

Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Tania came to the UK with energy, dedication and a strong desire to contribute to her new community. Since arriving, she has worked with Community Impact Bucks and co-founded 2BWell, supporting Ukrainian adults in challenging situations – a role she feels deeply honoured to serve in. Outside of her Rotary work, she enjoys travel, hiking, music, art and standup comedy, all of which inspire her community connections.

If you're interested in joining the Gerrards Cross & Chalfont St. Peter Rotary to use your time, talents, professional skills and energy to improve the lives of people in your local community, please get in touch.
